Esperanza

$5,670.00

Oil and acrylic on raw canvas
Framed
50×54”

Esperanza is the name of my aunt, the only living daughter of my Mexican grandparents who had eight children.

This painting represents the last vestige of hope in a landscape mired in destruction. There is a drowning, underwater feeling that emerged as I was working. And yet the persistent rising up of forms—plants, bubbles, stars.

All that has fallen makes the ground fertile for what’s to come.
