This painting began as an abstract expressionist piece, capturing the light of mid-Autumn. Pretty quickly, the fairy figures emerged, dancing into form. I was delighted by their appearance, as I had never painted fairies before. I was so taken by their innocence, joy, and ease-of-being. They represent the possibility of safety for innocence, beauty, and optimism in today’s world.
