Los Azules (Giclée Print)
Working on this painting required a delicate hand and much contemplation, staring at the painting, and waiting for the next-steps to emerge from the field. The decision to add two floating flowers asked for a level of assertion that I don’t usually engage.
The flowers echo each other, and also create a narrative arc—from bloom to wilt. I experienced the work as a portal into the field of grief, but also what grief reveals about the exquisite ache of love and loss. Within that beauty lies a persistent optimism that even though all things pass, there is worthwhile beauty of having loved.
Printed locally by University of Michigan professor Patrick Young. Hand-signed and numbered by the artist. Each print is made and signed to order. Please allow 1-2 weeks for shipping. Thank you.
