Transubstantiation (Giclée Print)
A pivotal work in my career. This painting was one of the first I completed after our move from California to Michigan, and after the birth of my second child.
I first started this painting over ten years ago in 2015. It first emerged as a field of grey and black. It carried so much heaviness that I had to set it aside. It wasn’t until nine years later that it yearned for new life.
Once I picked it up again, the colors emerged quickly and organically. I spent every free hour (which at the time was not much) immersed in the painting. The process of bringing fresh energy and attention to this piece felt like a sanctuary from my otherwise very hectic life as a mom of a newborn.
Printed locally by University of Michigan professor Patrick Young. Hand-signed and numbered. Each print is made and signed to order. Please allow 1-2 weeks for shipping. Thank you.
